The Demo servers are down for good, (That is not really surprising if you consider that ME3 is a nearly 5 years old game.) but you still can play the Demo.
Disconnect your internet connection before starting the Demo and the Game will run.

The full Game servers are up and running.

To Bad. I was thinking about buying Mass Effect 3 or joining the Vault game membership. I'm glad I tried the Mass Effect Demo First to discover the servers are down before giving them my money. And these guys are releasing Mass Effect 4 soon. Scary.
