Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Online Pass Required Error

To summarize, this all began when I tried to play Mass Effect 3 on PC with some friends for the first time in a couple years. I installed the EA app (since the Origin client recommended it) and then installed Mass Effect 3 on my computer. After it installed, I launched the game and tried to enter the online multiplayer, but instead of it working, I got the "An online pass is required to access online features of the game" error. After some searching, I found this was a common account entitlement error on EA's end.

    @EA_Shepard Anything will help at this point, it's honestly ridiculous how the live chat agents just don't want to help me.. :/ I thoroughly explain it, as if it's impossible to not comprehend and I'm extremely polite and patient.

    Mass Effect 3 now requires an online pass. Can this be fixed and what is the reason for this requirement?

    Hey @vpsvpsvps1,

    This is an error our support team should be able to fix up for you, though we wouldn't be able to make the necessary changes via the forums.

    Please contact support directly so they can take a look at the account and your Mass Effect 3 entitlements specifically, and they should be able to assist from there. 🙂

    • The link to EA's Support is here. If you are not from the US change the country in the top right corner.
    • Choose "Contact us" (Top Bar) and then Choose "EA app" from the list. (Or search for it.)
    • Choose PC > Choose "Manage my Account" > "Can't log in" > Select contact Option.
    • You should get a chat option now. (Please note the business hours.)


    You also could try EAs Support on Twitter or on Facebook.

    If you still don't see a chat option it might be that Browser add-ons or security software is blocking it.

    Hello I've asked for help from EA from 3 sources so far (Twitter, Facebook, EA Help) and its been a WHOLE MONTH since my case has started and I have yet to get a human response back about my issue.

    When I launch Mass Effect 3 and go to multiplayer the screen I have attached pops up. I can't get into multiplayer. I have all the DLCs for multiplayer downloaded. I've heard it has something to do with enabling entitlements on the game.

    This is rediculious waiting this long for support to a simple issue.
