Mass effect andromeda doesn't work on the EA App

I recently built my 3rd gaming computer using all top line components. It could be said that my system is "overkill". Anyway, when I try to run Mass Effect Andromeda the game doesn't even start. It just show me the EA Desktop screen and the game refuses to load and play. I also have Mass Effect Legendary Edition on my computer and it runs flawlessly. Is anybody else having this problem, and if so what's the solution. I really don't want to uninstall the game; (done that 4 times), but it won't run I don't want the game taking up space on my m.2 drive. As a side note, it worked just fine through the Origin app but not the EA app. If anybody has any suggestions or are familiar with this issue please contact me at [edit: email address removed]. Thanks.

  • Just wanted to add that it still doesn't launch by default.

Note: Probably step "2.b" is the only one you will need but I listed everything I did in order just in case.

Essentially just make the "MassEffectAndromeda" file in your installed location require admin permissions. Then the EA app just gives the statement that the game needs admin permissions and actually launches the game.

    Steps by my chronological order:
    1. From EA app - manage game -> repair

Seemed to install some extra content.

    2. From EA app -> manage -> view properties -> browse

2.a. Went 1 folder up, right click "Mass Effect Andromeda" folder -> properties -> Uncheck "Read-only" -> Apply

2.b. Inside "Mass Effect Andromeda" folder right click "MassEffectAndromeda" file -> properties -> compatibility -> check "Run this program as an administrator" -> Apply

2.c. Double click the "MassEffectAndromeda" from the folder instead of the desktop.
