Joined a game in progress not looking for this specific mission nor was I aware of this kind of mission, and only expecting a "normal" gold. Wasted almost all my consumables before wave 7. Good thing my teammates were good and I got carried.

Every now and then it happens to me as well that I forgot to check the missions settings in the lobby before blindly entering a match.
And I know a lot of players regularly don't care about mission settings judging by the fact how many inappropriate weapon load outs are used in specific Assault rifle/Shotgun/etc. skirmish matches ...
Make it a habbit to check mission settings first (even if it is already running; one is not auto thrown into the running match, you always are in the lobby first).
That being said: 11 waves are not displayed in the mission settings like 'extended waves' or so. Devs shouls add that kind on information in the settings descriptions as well, not only in a banner (but which you have to close manually, so everyone should have the information - reading is your friend).

I have had a helluva time trying to get 4 competent players to run this on gold. I have nothing against new players, I am essentially still a new player myself. I don't mind "shenanigans" on lower level tiers because its manageable. But this mission is 11 waves of gold tier enemies, with some extra oomph.
Last night we cleared this easy, after we managed to kick a 15k rating player who refused to change from his level 5 - T1 Asari duelist. The kicker is the replacement player only had 2k rating, but a level 19 T5 Asari Sentinel character and played like a boss.
Before that it was all sub 1k, sub level 10 players trying to get in. No offense peeps but I don't carry. I am too old for that, and can only manage my pull my own weight these days. I am not about to waste time I could spend playing and having fun, on playing and not having fun because the team can't pull its weight.

I have to admit I hate when low geared low level players are in gold. Gold is tough enough without someone who manages to score 600 and is dead all the time drawing fellow players into harms way trying to help them. Score isn't everything but generally a good group all manage to pull their own weight. Of course my first silver was at level 1 in my second match due to an fool that boosted the match level while I was waiting for a bronze to start.
The other thing is that players need to be a bit more ready to use some of their consumables. If your in the middle of a disaster (which can happen do to no ones fault just because everything is converging on your location) that is only going to get your team killed trying to ress you.. pop a self ress. I've often ressed myself because I was pissed at myself for getting myself killed stupidly. Use that ammo pouch occasionally when it's a good idea to. Doing a hack and the room is full of baddies and a boss mob? Time to rpg that thing, clearing the room of bout riff raff and leaving with only finishing the boss off.
