Mass Effect: Discovery (Kandros Comic series)

The new Mass Effect Discovery comic series dropped this Wednesday. It's the first of four issues that take place just prior to the Initiative's mission and features Tiran Kandros as a Turian agent investigating the Initiative's intentions (we even see his mom who is pretty important on the food chain). I haven't finished reading it, but so far it's pretty interesting (we open on the aftermath of his fight with some Geth soldiers in the beginning) and I'm curious to see where it leads. With DLC not being a sure thing at the moment (though I hope that changes to something positive), I'm hoping they give some clues as to the whole Benefactor//Jien Garson thing since the timeline kind of offers a chance to look at this.

Anywho, I was just wondering if any other comic fans in the forum have picked this up and read this. I'm curious to see what others think about the story after I'm finished. :-)

Just in case you haven't heard of it, here's a little more info about it:

I love these 50s pulp-inspired covers

  • I'm interested, but no, I won't budge on these cheapcover issues.

I'm always buying integrals and those usually come in hardcovers (except manga, dunno why they insist on paperbacks).

Screnhosts show my current ME "books" collection, that includes two comics integrals.

The plastic wrapping ofc is not original, to protect those books from dust and my cigarette smoke, I use cheap kitchen bags as for all my comics.
Transparent mylar bags are not easily obtainable and are unbelievably expensive over here, I'll have to check offers on aliexpress or somewhere one of these days. I'm repeating that to myself for years. I guess I'm just a lazy bum. 😉

Anyway, I will buy Discovery eventually. When? When it gets packed with it's sequels and spinoffs into the third comic book.

Nice collection. @JoxerTM22! The coverings seem to go with it actually. I've been eyeing that Art of Mass Effect book. I may need to grab it before it skyrockets even more in price. The others I haven't seen in hardcover but I'll need to check them out on Amazon or TFAW. They look like gorgeous sets that would look great on the shelf. I imagine they'll put Discovery out in paperback consisting of all issues like normal trades, but if they do a huge hardcover with all stories pertinent to Andromeda, that'd be pretty epic.

  • All these are from amazon except The Art of Mass Effect Universe (it's the art ogf the original trilogy) which I bought through Archonia.

Gorgeous is a word not enough to describe them. Honestly.

Here's hope Discovery will be on the same quality level as original trilogy comics spinoffs.
