freezing menu is not what bothers me. my problem is with the quest itself. i am supposed to enter med bay on this quest but i cannot. i get locked at transfer zone and the doors would never open.
in any other times i have no issues with menu, it works well. all bugs are at transfer zone
and yes, i really really dont want to reinstall my game and lose all progress. i can do fine without this mission but i hope this report will, dunno, help you fix this bug and help other players avoiding it?

I know this is over a year late, but my guess is...man I hate this part of the quest...After you get the code from the locked room which can open any *SECURITY* terminal you need to turn around and go back to the previous room. There is a Security terminal to the right of a "Mineral Labs" sign (well left of the sign since you are coming from the opposite direction). Interact with it and viola. Problem solved. Heh, the only reason I found this post was because I thought my game may be bugged. Nope, just poor game design on that part. They should have made it a bit more clear, like _"This password will let you interact with the Security Terminal in the Labs. It will not work on any doors or systems not related to Security Terminals..."_ since the game basically trains you to *NOT* have to back track unless it's obvious (ei Press B to Open Pod; there's a good chance you search that area for a pod that opened and find the second best assault rifle, imo, in the game; for players, not for NPC's. The light machine gun takes it for team members. Darn thing is like a cheat almost. Anyway, back to the issue at hand.).
Hope that helps someone, as reinstalling just to get stuck at the same spot 50 hours+ later is a real pain in the caboose.
