Do you know what they tried? This is probably a account problem.
Still, please look if there is a compatibility setting or "Run as Administrator" set in the "MassEffectLauncher.exe".
If so disable it and try again.

Unfortunately not, they said there wasn't an issue with my account and that my issue would be shared with the game team further to see if there was any issue from their end, but I've not heard anything back yet- do appreciate it hasn't been long.
I had a look there and none of them are set to run in compatibility for any OS. I also tried running as admin for all of them, including the launcher but all that happened was the EA app launched and then nothing. Thanks

Please preform a clean boot and test the Game in clean boot mode.
Make sure your virus scanner and other security software and also Afterburner and similar software is disabled inside the clean boot.
