Mass Effect Origin Cloud Save Gone

Hi,

I had a mass effect save saved to origin cloud, totaling 14 hours of progress. Yesterday i moved to a different pc, installed mass effect, logged in, and was surprised to see that there was no resume option. I just assumed that I had in fact not saved to cloud after all, and went to my other pc the next day to fix that. However, when I opened the game there was no resume option on this one either. I've tried many things to make it work, including: disable auto cloud saves, restore local save file, enable again (however that option wasnt available, with a greyed out restore local saves - i assume because I hadn't saved any off cloud); connect to different wifi; disable security systems; delete caches; anything I could figure out how to with my limited technical knowledge. Unfortunately, none of it worked. I'd be really grateful if anyone knew what was happening (does the cloud save still exist and is refused to sync, or was it deleted somehow?) or a way to fix it. I realize I should have made backups, and will do so in the future before switching pcs. Thanks

I have merged your second thread with the first, as it is the same problem.

If downloading the cloud save to your second PC don't works all you need to do is coping the character folder (CharName_XX_Experte_XXXXX_0) from the first PCs ME2 save folder ("C:\Users\>your user name<\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save\ME2") to the same folder on the second PC.

The save games of the MELE are always stored on the local hard drive and then copied to the cloud, there is no exclusive saving to the cloud.

The standard save folder is "C:\Users\>your user name<\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save\> ME1, ME2 or ,ME3

However, if there is a mismatch between the local save files and the cloud files it is entirely possible that the local save files got deleted if you pressed the wrong button as Origin asked you about it.

Look if you can find the save games under the above location, if you use OneDrive, look if the save games are in the OneDrive folder.

  • Hi,

I had a ME2 save that I wanted to play on a different PC. Because of this, I backed up a save file and the Trilogy game profile by copy pasting them to another folder. I then enabled cloud saves and saved a new game. I also uploaded copies of the save file and trilogy game profile to wetransfer just in case. I then opened the game on the new pc; however, even with cloud saves enabled and the save downloaded and saved into This PC>Documents>BioWare>Mass Effect Legendary Edition>Save>ME2 the game isn't accessing either my cloud save or my physical copy. Restore local save is greyed out and won't become an option even if i enable and disable cloud; I've tried clearing caches; I've tried running as administrator (An option popped up saying there was a conflict between cloud saves and local content, so i selected to use cloud saves but all it did was delete the files i had downloaded so i reinstalled them - its never offered that option again). I would be grateful for any advice. Thanks

  • Hello!

I have a similar concern regarding cloud storage and OC storage. After investing several hours in Mass Effect 1 legendary edition. I exited the game after saving my progress, then left for some time. I logged back into steam and EA and loaded the game. The prompt window popped up, stating a discrepancy between the cloud storage and the one on my HD. I chose the one that was more up-to-date (the cloud). After loading the game, I discovered the cloud save was nowhere close to where I left off...it was at the beginning of my gaming session of that day (6 hours or so). I panicked and looked through the HD logs (the same pathways you have outlined to others). Every save file was changed to the time and date I logged back into the game. It appears every saved file has now been changed to the new one. Is there any way to recover my previous files? I cannot find them through the means you have shared here and in other threads.
