How can you advertise this product as one that have native controller support when it works only in the main menu? As it working only there it cannot be called "native controller support" as advertised. This is common practice to provide your client with false information?
I got MICROSOFT XBOX Series X controller which works with every game but not ME: Legendary Edition. When you choice for example Mass Effect 1 there is no controller support and it simply do not work.I have the same problem where my XBONE controller is detected on launcher screen but stops working on ME1. Using Origin Launcher
I have the game on Origin.
I have one of the newer XBON controller that came out with the Serie X/S.
The controller firmware is up to date.
Windows is up to date.
The controller behaves fine in the launcher where it shows the 3 games, snappy and well behaved. However as soon as I launch ME1 or ME2 the A button is all of a sudden mapped to X on the controller and often times the left thumb stick up/down would be reversed (D-Pad behaves normally).
Any suggestions?
Edit: I will add that while browsing for work around I noticed that steam's extended XBOX controller support does seem to fix this. However with that option turned on my Origin version of the game will only open to the launcher and when I try to launch any of the 3 games it will just hang. Is the lesson here to give less money to EA and just buy the Steam version?
I was having this issue, and so I disconnected my Series X/S controller and connected an older Xbox One controller and it fixed the issue. A weird problem for sure.
@EA_Atic Same problem here. Xbox Series Controller, wireless connection to latest Xbox wireless adapter. Launching from steam or origin makes no difference. Mele Game launcher works fine, but the games themselves don’t pick up the controller.
@EA_Atic Having the same issue with my Gamsir bluetooth controller. I am running it through origin and I can't use the controller once ME1 boots from the launcher. The controller is usable for other games in my steam and Origin library.
- @Zazzuki Unfortunately I don't have an older XBONE controller around, hopefully they can patch this within a week or so. I would really prefer to play this on my TV rather than monitor.
- @KrokoSchnappi So I just reconnected the Series X controller and it works now too. Maybe just try disconnecting and reconnecting it? Playing this one on the couch is definitely the way to go, I agree with you. Hope you can get it to work.
Running into similar issue with ps4 controller. Seems to work entirely fine on the launcher window but when I launch ME1 the controller is no longer recognized at all. If I disconnect my mouse and keyboard from my computer and only have the controller plugged in, ME1 will actually crash with no error message and return me to the ME launcher.
Same problem here. I'm using a PS4 controller connected to my computer via usb. Seems to work entirely fine on the launcher window but when I launch ME1 the controller is no longer recognized at all. If I disconnect my mouse and keyboard from my computer and only have the controller plugged in, ME1 will actually crash with no error message and return me to the ME launcher.
Please fix this Bioware (game looks beautiful so far so great job there, but this is immersion breaking not having controllers working)
