Hello, this is kind of a quality-of-life request, but when I played the original PC release of the first game, the elevator that went down to engineering was significantly faster than it was on console. On the 360 version of the game, it was slow due to what I assume was an attempt to make sure all the models and textures were loaded by the time you got down to the next level.It was unfortunate to see that the slow-paced console version of the Normandy elevator was retained for the Legendary Edition, especially since a big selling point of the remaster was to cut down time spent in elevators while on the Citadel. I was wondering how much work it would be to speed up the Normandy's elevator for the remaster, as it was in the original PC release of the first game?Thank you for your time.

@Fred_vdpAre we talking about the same thing...? It's sure as hell not fifteen seconds in the Legendary Edition. I did this capture on PC, but it is the same on XSX for me.As for the OG game, I don't have it installed, so idunno how long it takes.

Update: After transferring the game to an SSD, I now clock 10 seconds instead of 15... at least it's an improvement!

I looked up some Let's Play videos on YouTube of the PC version of ME1 and ME1LE, and timed it from when the player pressed the elevator button to the point where Shepard can move. It was approximately 16 seconds in the original and about 1 to 2 seconds faster in the Legendary Edition. I don't have specifics on these players' hardware, though.

Keep in mind that, while the elevator was faster in the original PC version, there was a loading icon once you reached your floor, which adds a few seconds. The Legendary Edition doesn't have that.

It's about five seconds for me (from pressing the elevator button until I regain control), on both Xbox Series X and PC.
This is totally fine in my opinion. The only way this could be faster would be to entirely remove the animations and switch it to a fade-to-black loading screen.

It's 15 seconds, not 5. At least on PC.
However, Fred_vdp was correct about the loading screen in the PC version. I completely forgot about that. Guess I was looking at it with rose-tinted glasses.

I was wrong about the door speed. I was thinking of original.

Actually, in the MELE edition on my XBSX, it's as fast as the PC version I played over ten year ago. The only time it was somewhat slow is the first time going down to the engineering bay. Even that first time is faster than the XB360 version. After that initial trip, it takes about 3 seconds to go down on all ensuing trips. It's the best place to stock up on lvl X SPECTRE weapons.

@felker_s I played on PC (off a Samsung Evo 860 SSD), and both original and Legendary are significantly slower. If it really can be that fast, it may have been a bug.

I'll check it out for myself when I have the time. I did miss a patch version.

I was wrong about the door speed. That was the original. I thought that carried over.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking (slow doors / elevator ride being a possible bug), since both of you were talking about 15 sec.

I've had this 5-6 sec elevator time for both platforms since launch. Well, cannot confirm "since launch" on PC, I think the first patch was out by the time I bought it on Origin, but I'm sure I got it before the June 7 patch.
Edit: I checked out the video, holy crap that's horrible. :D Poor dude has to wait more for the Normandy elevator than I do when using the Normandy docks - C-Sec one, lol.

I'd go nuts with that. I'm pretty sure that even the OG version was faster than that, this has to be unintentional...
Have you tried playing around with the FPS cap settings?
