Still not fixed (PC here) after today’s patch. ::facepalm emoji::
It isn't fixed because it isn't broken. Liara is a Pure Biotic, as is Adept Shepard. ONLY Sentinel (Kaidan) has access to Biotic and Tech abilities. The Dev's made it this way on purpose!

Is this sarcasm?- 4 years ago
No. It's simply a fact. Adept -and Liara- has no access to Tech abilities. It's odd that the Dev's chose to give Liara Electronics in ME1 in the first place. But that's by the by. However, they balanced it by not allowing her to use Overload.

@BlackSassyWolf And where do you get that from?
A developer response, or just a guess on your part?
Because, I mean... Liara still can use Overload if you put her on "auto skill mode" 🤔

@BlackSassyWolf what a dumb response. You can replicate this issue quickly. Put points into all of her talents except stasis. You’ll see overload in her power wheel. Now put a point in stasis. Overload is gone, even though there’s still a free slot. It’s a frickin bug.

That's beyond absurd reasoning, frankly it describes how it's broken.
Either A: Liara has basic level electrical ability OR they need to completely REMOVE the skill option from the list. If it wasn't broken, it wouldn't have been listed or a place in which skill points could be dumped into.
I for example, decided to leave liara until one of the last things i did, and when i got her, i was planning on taking her and wrex to peak 15... only to discover many many hours later after getting her and cranking her electrical skill to max, and playing through multiple stages before getting to peak 15, that electrical funamentally was broken as a combat skill AND as deciphering/hacking among other things.I could backtrack many many hours and revert, but frankly this seems like a major oversight on bioware's part since you'd have thought someone had played through it and at least tried to use overload or crack/hack something.

Is this aimed at me?

Please stop flooding my bug report with useless bickering.
It is a bug, a bug that can be easily reproduced, as mentioned above. Personal opinions do not change this fact, and if a developer tried to justify a clear technical issue that way, they'd instantly lose all my respect.
If BW wanted a lore-specific explanation, they would remove Liara's omni-tool, and replace her Electronics skill with a biotic ability. Until then, this is purely a technical matter.

If the devs intended Liara to be pure biotic with no tech powers whatsoever, they would not have given her Electronics in the first place and allowed her to use Overload at all. So even if you're correct about the devs' intentions, it's still broken because Liara is able to do things the devs didn't intend for her to do! Follow your own logic, man. I find it much more likely that Liara is meant by the devs to be able to use Overload but it's glitched, rather than the devs gave her a whole skill line by accident or somehow didn't intend to.
You aren't one of the devs, you're making a fool of yourself by presuming to speak for the devs. You don't actually know their intentions.
