Did you try to update your sound drivers ?
Just saying...
I found this on another web site :
https://steamah.com/mass-effect-legendary-edition-how-to-fix-audio-problem/
" The games DO NOT LIKE any audio output device that is set to anything above 48KHz.... "
Who knows maybe it can help some of you ?
Your comment about updating sound drivers reminded me of an issue that I used to have. My Creative is notorious for releasing 1 driver for their hardware and then forgetting about it. Windows will update the driver with their own. A while back the windows driver caused sound outages in Discord. The audio will randomly quit. I just noticed it updated to that driver again.
I'm thinking that might be my issue.
Edit: No dice. I was already running the factory drivers so I removed the microsoft drivers from the windows driver store to see and nothing happened. I tried installing the ones from the update and it seems like it just sticks with the ones I already have.
What's weird is it ONLY happens on the Normandy or the Shadow Broker base. Running as admin doesn't help either.
Edit 2: I decided to update drivers via windows update. I noticed this time it says they're by creative and not Microsoft so here's hoping.
Edit 3: That didn't work but I got through it by saving often on the Normandy and then finishing the game.

Hey for anyone having these issues using a 7.1 surround speaker checks this vid out it allows you to play the game and hear the audio. My problem arises from the fact that my computer will not allow to me to disable the 7.1 on the headset I use forcing me to use this method due to most another fix not working.
