Our sincere apologies for not really updating this thread, but that's because we unfortunately didn't really have anything to share... until now.
We have received reports from our teams that the issue now has been 100% resolved and also people with post-2018 and pre-2018 accounts should now be able to create and join lobbies again, which should count for both Mass Effect: Andromeda and Mass Effect 3.
Our request for you: Could you please give it another try and let us know how it goes?
Ever since the FORCED migration from Origin App to EA App I've had nothing but problems playing ME3MP which I've played for years. The most annoying one is that I can no longer join a friends game from the app. We have to create a game and then have everyone join the lobby, and if you DC'd cause the game crashed (like that never happens) you can't get back into the existing game until it is over. Now, we can't even join like that anymore, if I try to join a friends game I get an error that says "unable to join friends game". We just have to both jump in a public match and hope we get lucky. We've tried reinstalling the games, the EA app, different PCs.... nothing works. Really sad that this is the state of your platform anymore and I highly doubt I'll ever buy another game with the EA logo on it.
I guess my question is, do you guys have any plans to fix any of this or should customers just cut their losses and move onto a system that actually works?

Umm, the latter? There was a 20+ reply thread created here a couple of days ago on this very subject (ME3/MEA MP broken join feature). And instead of addressing it, it "magically" disappeared. So, what does that tell you?
That topic was created here on the forums by following instructions given by the EA Advisors which is in chat history of the cases I have opened in attempt to solve this for all players world wide. EA Advisors advised me to do it here, because their permissions are very limited and they cannot do anything other then pass messages and address account related issues, such is purchases. While here the staff is above them in rank and have better permissions as well as better contact with people at the team, servers, games, etc. So I did what I was told and opened public topic here on the forums.
We had 43 people hit "I have this problem too" button, and 3 pages of replies in a very short amount of time. Now people cannot see the topic anymore because it was hidden for reasons of spam. I attempt to communicate with EA Support, here on forums plus Live Chat to no results plus using abuse report button. No explanation given, no answer received. EA Advisor attempted to restore the topic because she found nothing wrong with it, but that's how she found out she does not have such permissions and she felt bad she could not help me. I will share screenshot, since I as author have access to original post which contains detailed information as this problem persists since 2018 and for half decade has not been addressed yet.
This is not OK. The store pages clearly advertises multiplayer and sells it to the customers for money. We only attempted to communicate the problem, pointing out history of the problem that could discover the cause, and offered our help so that we can solve this problem together. Other customers/players could provide their own experience and information that could prove crucial in detecting the problem and possibly find solution. We all love Mass Effect here after all. This is not OK attitude and behavior towards customers world wide asking for help and offering assistance to the company that was unable to solve the problem for 5+ years now.

I just tested between my Main and 2 Alts. Main is pre-2018 and had previously been fine. The 2 alts are post-2018 and always had the problem. Yes, they all now have the invite problem, including my old Main.
I'll note that not all of the many post-2018 issues are appearing on the Main (for example, it doesn't lose connection when host drops). So it isn't like all the post-2018 problems have propagated. The Invite issue is the one that is now universal.
