Hi I have bought the game on STEAM and it's supposed to work in Linux but it does not start.
There is some "EA-APP" that tries to install and then nothing happens.
How do I start the game??
I run Linux Mint on a gaming PC.
I get the message:
Something went wrong The EA APP encountered an error and could not finish installing (error code: INST-21-25005).
I also get the message:
The EA APP encountered an error and could not finish installing (error code: AD-7BC0).

The game may run through the Proton compatibility layer, but is not officially supported by EA. I saw that there was an update for ME Legendary Edition very recently, so maybe that means the EA app now have issues on Linux. In that case it can sometimes take a few days for either EA App or Proton to be patched to restore functionality.
Hi, thanks for the suggestions, I will try with Lutris but the more I read on this the more of a "hit or miss" this seems to be. It's very inconsistent.
It's however released as "working" for the Steam Deck so it should also run on any other Linux installation. It seems to be very random, some people does not have any problems at all.
It's important that EA checks compatibility also with the Linux community before releasing their own launchers, since so many play on Linux.

Is that on Lutris or Proton?
holger1405 On Lutris I can load the EA-APP, and I can confirm that I have logged in to EA and that I have the game, but Lutris cannot load the game since Lutris just points to Steam, and Steam cant launch the game. Even if I have the EA-APP up and running, the game wont launch.
holger1405 And the error codes, like "error code: INST-14-1627" does come from Steam. Steam is completely unable to run the EA-APP, I have tried Proton, 10.0-4, experimental, hotfix, GE-proton10-33...
