The issue is that they always remove parts of the game to release it as DLC and since ME:A didn't do well enough...as in, $$$, they abandoned the game and stuck with the MP for a little while since that made them money....otherwise Mass Effect is outright dead.
Right now, they are focusing on butchering Anthem by forced grouping for freeplay and Dragon Age with more crappy tactical combat (which i am not a fan of personally), but otherwise the concept was always good.
Andromeda is dead but, the the ME franchise still has a strong base and a good history, so it's a valuable IP.
EA meddles way too much in the development of games. In particular trying to force business models onto them. They crippled the Star wars Battlefront franchise and outright killed the Dead Space franchise with microtransactions. While it wasn't ME:A's business model that did it in, EA helped to hamper development so bad the game didn't have a chance to find it's legs and recover.
