That’s the thing. I’ve seen Garrus and Tali hook up but I have NEVER seen Donnelly and Daniels. No matter what I’ve done, there’s never a prompt to side with either one.
I don't remember the specifics behind their hookup, but the bug with Kaidan was that the banter on the engineering deck couldn't run (because of a mistaken flag change shortly before the game released, which locked it to only working if Ashley was the survivor).
If ambient convos are running when you're down there, then there's something else going on (either you missed the requirement somewhere or there's some other bug or change they made).
