Am I the only one who thinks that most of the primary weapons, in particular assault rifles, seem to be pea shooters.. thats the main reason I choose snipers.. so if anyone can shed some light on goo...

N7 Valkyrie at the moment has the best balance between firepower and firing speed in my opinion, the Mattock would be a contender but it's firing speed has taken a heavy nerf since it's debut in ME2 and fires no where near as fast as it could in ME2.
