Normandy Crash Site DLC not activating in-game

I purchased the Cerberus Network and then downloaded the Normandy Crash Site DLC. On the main menu, under New Content Available, it says I have purchased the Normandy Crash Site, and there is a tick next to it.

I have continued to play for a few hours after downloading the DLC - however, I have still not received an email from Admiral Hackett in the game, which is supposed to tell me to go to the crash site. I also travelled to the Omega Nebula cluster, where the Amada system should appear after downloading the DLC, as that is the location of the crash site, but the Amada system is not there.

I downloaded the Zaeed DLC and the Cerberus Weapon and Armor DLC earlier and both of those worked fine. Am I supposed to wait until a certain point in the story in order to play the Normandy DLC? I've finished Omega and recruited the Krogan.

  • OK problem solved - for anyone else having this issue with Mass Effect DLC, it was fixed by deleting the DLC from the Xbox hard drive, redownloading it and then restarting Mass Effect 2. You may have to repeat this process several times.

Have to say that I'm really unsatisfied with the Origin/Cerberus Network DLC system. I've never had any problems with DLC until now. This is my first time using Origin, and I've already had to re-purchase 2000 Microsoft Points worth of Mass Effect 2 DLC because of a previous issue (and I've given up trying to get a refund.) The game is brilliant, but EA customer support needs to improve.

  • OP here. I should just add that I'm playing on Xbox 360 and that the Normandy DLC has definitely downloaded - it appears in my Xbox hard drive as having downloaded fully and I have no active or pending downloads.

  • Just tried deleting the DLC and re-downloading it. Got confirmation that it had downloaded, but it still doesn't appear in game.
