Try to clear your Origin cache.

All settings in Origin (only in Origin not in the games) are back to default settings after this.)

        - close Origin completely. (right click on the Origin symbol in the task bar > close)
        - Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
        - Type or copy  "%ProgramData%/Origin" (without quotes) > hit ENTER
        - Delete all the files and folders in the Origin folder, except for the "LocalContent" folder. (The "LocalContent" folder must remain untouched.)

        - Delete the "Mass Effect 3" folder inside the "LocalContent" folder.
        - Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
        - Type or copy "%AppData%" (without quotes)  > hit ENTER
        - Now your Windows explorer should have brought you to your "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Roaming" folder
        - Delate the "Origin"  folder inside the "Roaming" folder
        - In the address bar of your Windows explorer click on the word "AppData".
        - Open the "Local" folder
        - Delate the "Origin"  folder inside the  "Local" folder
        - Restart your PC. > test

    • Close Origin completely. (make sure that "safe mode downloading" is enabled before you close Origin.)
    • Go to your ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games" folder and move the "Mass Effect 3" folder to a different place.
    • Run Origin as Administrator (right click the Origin exe > run as Administrator) and start the download. > If the download works, pause the download after 30 seconds.
    • Copy the content of the old "Mass Effect 3" folder into the new "Mass Effect 3" folder under ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games".
    • Resume the download.
  • I figured it out , i deleted the entire origin folder from program data and app data and that worked for me :D thank you so much you are a hero !!!!!!

@holger1405 Thank you so much. I had this problem as well as downloading the video game itself, because of the biggest slowdown. At least I get it from you. You are expert. I will get your strategy.
  • @pwnzerer007 Holy hell!! its been 7 hrs of googling and none of them really worked. so try this:
    1) check if the disk is on NTFS file format.
    2) just go to file location. (task mannager > *right click origin, open file location) > close origin in task mannager > right click origin in file location > properties > compatability tab > *check run as admin box > restart pc > run origin. fixed for me.
    3) reinstalling all those C++ files are a waste of time. if u did heres a link for all of em.

but yea.. the run as admin was the only stuff u have to do... i feel soo dumb now.. and yea.. make sure origin is totally closed.. some ppl have origin on run when pc is switched on.
