[PC] I downloaded Mass Effect LE and it installed/runs great

I bought and downloaded my first EA game online - Mass Effect LE and it installed and runs perfectly. However it's left me with next to no free space on my drive C: so I decided to order a new 1TB SSD. It's now arrived and I plan to put it in this weekend and re-install Windows 10.

All I'd like to know is whether I downloaded a full game installer... or the downloader did the installing automatically at the end of the download process? I see a folder called 'Game' inside Program Files which contains folders called 'Launcher', 'ME1', 'ME2' and 'ME3' but it's not immediately obvious if you can install Mass Effect LE from there...

Regardless, I've copied the 'Mass Effect Legendary Edition' folder to a 128Gig Keydrive and hope that I'm going to be able to re-install the game from it after I re-install Windows. Is this correct or I am going to have to download 100+ GB of game again afterwards, (assuming it even lets you download the game a second time).

Thanks in advance for any info...

EA lets you download the game as often as you like.

However, the installation of the game from a existing back up is problematic.

I just tested again, and the only way I could make it work was by editing the Windows registry by hand, and that is problematic if you don't have the game installed already as for example on a new Windows installation.

If you feel capable to edit the registry I can provide you with a guide, but be aware that errors in this process might damage your Windows installation.
It would also help if the game is still installed on the current system.

    Many thanks for the info.

In the end I needn't have worried... I put the new 1T SSD in after cloning it so ME just worked on the new drive anyway! 🙂
