[PC] Mass Effect Andromeda MP, random crashes.

Hello, I try to play multiplayer without failures but it is impossible, sometimes it lets me play several hours, sometimes 5 minutes, the pc freezes completely, black screens and the graphics card blowing very hard.
use i7 6700k
gtx 1080ti aorus extreme
16gb ramm 3000mhz
it happens to me with and without vsync
I've tried all the options in the thread, I can't find a solution and it's frustrating, any help is appreciated, it's my favorite game and I can't play it quietly.

PD: Temps con vsync 60fps= 50º

temps vsync:off 65º

55º/60º cpu

Please create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply.

If you use Windows 7 also go to your Reliability monitor > Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time and copy and paste or type "perfmon /rel" (without the quotes) in the new Window > hit “ENTER” and look if it has entries for the game you have trouble with.

If yes double click at the last entry for the game executable, copy the info to the clipboard, and save it to a text file.

You can attach the DxDiag text file you created (and the “Reliability monitor” text file as well) to your post in the “Reply” window with the “Choose File” button.

Thanks for answering, I use original windows 10 pro 64bits just like the game.
I remember that without having formatted, before I played with my gtx970 at 60fps, but I had never experienced these crashes.

Here is the file you ask me, thanks and greetings.

  • @EA_Barry Putting the graphics card in silent mode at 1480mhz of the usual 2070 mhz, and I managed to play 1h35min. If vsync was activated I can play for hours, if I deactivate sometimes only 2 min and crash, black screens and restart by hitting the button since it leaves no other alternative. Could you specify a bit what this problem is due to? If there is any way to solve it at least to continue playing it, or if at least they tell us that they are reviewing it, it would be great, greetings and thanks anyway, I will be attentive to the thread.
  • Thanks again for the info, I was finally able to fix the problem by reducing the power to my graphics card and I just played 3 and a half hours and even broadcasting. I do not understand how I could have oc without having put it myself, but it was lowered to 60% power and the game did not fail under any circumstances but the fps did not convince me, so I started to raise it until I reached 80% of energy and I recovered the fluidity of about 150 fps, 1080p, vsync: off, full screen, corsarir program running without problem. Hope this can help other people, regards.

Many cards, but especially Nvidia based ones, come overclocked from the factory.  Some games accept less errors than others, and depending on the age of your hardware, you may be looking at a slight degrade to your hardware causing minor errors that can be overlooked by some programs and cause crashing in others.  Glad you got it figured out, and maybe your headache will benefit someone else down the road.

This is not a game problem per se, but a problem related to your specific system.
Bioware also ceased support for the game a long time ago, so there are no future patches to the game.

With what software do you reduce the power limit of your card?

If you use Vsync the power consumption should automatically go down.

That this, together with the reduced clocks let you play for hours leads me to believe that the culprit might be the powering of your system.

In general, a factory overclocked card should run the game on the stock settings without a problem.

    Hello good Morning

Today I have been doing more tests and without a doubt, the problem has been corrected with msi after burner, lowering the graphics power to about 1750mhz, I lose fps but at least it is playable at good rates of between 150 and 200fps.
I have everything in ultra except the post-processing that I use in low.
Today I have been playing for hours and moving the mouse violently 🙂
Without a doubt, the game now works for me, it's a shame not being able to use its full potential because after seeing that this worked, I thought that my graph might have a problem, I put it back to power 100% at about 2070 ye tried various games like battlefront 2, borderlands 3, rocket league, gears 5 and ring of elysium, with vsync: off and everything works perfectly with factory overclock, so the problem only occurs in mass effect andromeda ☹️
at least in my case of course, greetings friends.
Do not hesitate to ask any questions, we are here to help!

PS: To see something good about all this, it has been impressive to see 150 fps and more at about 50º 🙂

  • Well I waited a few days to take time doing tests and it turned out to be a power failure of the power supply, 1 of the small plugs that went to the motherboard did not supply the power correctly and when changing the power supply, everything works perfectly with factory oc activated. I came to think that it was a gambling problem but no, the game is very smooth. Greetings and thanks for the help, at least removing oc from factory and I was able to play it while looking for the problem 🙂
