[PC] ME3 co-op crashes
Hi guys,
Im pretty sure I am not the only person who is experiencing intermittent crashes with the Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer sessions.
The game seems to freeze and then suddenly exits to deskt...
ME3 was always large address aware.
Please create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply. You can do that with the "Choose file" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.
Please also upload the dump file to a free file host like OneDrive or DropBox and post the link here.
Thanks for the reply. Here you go.
The dump shows a standard access violation, a null pointer read, which means that a pointer is referencing to a point in memory that doesn't contain valid data.
We know that the game itself is not the reason for that, it works for many other people, so the problem is something on your system.
Try to repair the game > Test.
(Origin: Game Library > Right-click the game cover > Repair)
(EA app: My Collection > Click on the three dots on the game cover > Repair)
(Steam: Game Library > Right-click the game > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.)
If that don't helps:
1. Hit Windows key and X.
2. Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” or "Windows Terminal (Administrator)", whichever option is offered.
3. Inside PowerShell, CMD or Terminal enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
4. If errors are found, notify us. If no errors were found reaped steps 1 & 2.
5. Inside PowerShell, CMD or Terminal enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
6. The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here.
7. After it reaches 100% reaped steps 1 & 2
8. Inside PowerShell, CMD or Terminal enter “sfc /scannow” without quotes > ENTER.
10. Post the message you receive at the end of the processes here.
I repaired the game via the new EA Launcher, which did not work and I crashed in a session again.
1) For "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth", I have error: 87, Attached screenshot "CheckHealth".
2) For "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth", I did not have any errors and operation completed successfully. Attached screenshot "RestoreHealth"
3) For "sfc /scannow", it mentions that it found some corrupted files. Attached Screenshot "Scannow"
Regarding Checkhealth, the command is missing the spaces, that is why it throws this error.
But it should be fine because "Restorehealth" did run fine.
Press the Windows key > Write "CMD" (Without the quotation marks) > Right click on "Command prompt" in the search results. > Run as administrator.
Copy "findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt" (Without the quotation marks at the beginning and end.) into the prompt of the command prompt. > ENTER.
Upload the "sfcdetails.txt" that is now on your desktop.
Then:
Please preform a clean boot and test the Game in clean boot mode.
In clean boot:
- Make sure the "EABackgroundService" remains enabled under point 3 in the guide.
- Make sure your virus scanner and other security software and also Afterburner and similar software is disabled.
- Make sure any CORSAIR/Razor/Asus software you might have is disable or deinstalled and that your GPU & CPU are not overclocked.
- Make sure only your Mouse and keyboard are connected to the PC.
