Priority: Earth. When does it canonically happen
I'm trying to do an educated guess on the amount of human casualties on Earth from the reaper invasion and I want to get an accurate guess on the amount of time that passed between the fall of Earth ...

My dates might be a little off, and I just want to clarify that this is my own best guess as a fan of the series, but I believe that Earth was actually hit sometime between September 28th (Taetrus going dark) and October 5th (The Turian Hierarchy failing to retake Taetrus). According to the wiki, the game starts and ends in the same year (2186), so at most the entire game happens in a span of just under three months.
That seems wild, but considering how fast the Reapers go about eating the galaxy... That actually seems about right. Maybe even a little bit too long.
I think that the whole timeline is a bit too nebulous to really give a definitive answer, so if you're doing the maths you'll likely need to account for a whole range of possibilities.
(Please don't use me as a definitive source. I'm just speculating too.)
