It makes for reporting a bug and for troubleshooting.
Try to repair the game.
(Origin > Game Library > right click MELE > Repair)

This particular mission has been completed in the past with no issues, but probably on previous patch. I should be back to this mission later today, and if it fails again I will report it as a bug. I was just hunting for any possible Q & D fixes prior, or whether anyone else has experienced this issue. A 'bug' that cannot be reliably repeated is not a bug that can be reliably fixed.
