It could be interference from a background process. Antivirus software can sometimes cause this. If you want to be thorough, you could try a clean boot to eliminate unessential background processes.
That didn't seem to help, unfortunately. Do you have any other suggestions?

Please create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply. You can do that with the "Choose file" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.

ME is crashing with an standard access violation error.
The problem is that there are many reasons why such an error might occur.
Please preform a clean boot and test the Game in clean boot mode.
Make sure your virus scanner and other security software and also Afterburner and similar software is disabled.
Make also sure that your GPU & CPU are not overclocked.
