Random Temporary Freezing

Several people have had this problem according to this topic: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/344/index/9676062/3

No solution was given but I blame that on the fact the forum was closed, sadly I wish it wasn't since I find 'Answer HQ' rather lack luster compared to that forum. If someone has a solution that'd be great, this 'freezing' only happens on ME3 and as I said before, it's only started recently. Perhaps I need to dust off my fan/graphics card with some compressed air to see if it leviates the problem but at current I think it's stemming from ME3 itself, since no other game has been giving me this problem.

Have you attempted repairing origin, ME3, and your DLC?

I've used the 'repair' option on ME3 several times, it tells me everything is fine. I've uninstalled ME3 several times and defragged my HDD, it hasn't helped. I've gone through all my DLC and used repair install, everything is fine and dandy apparently. So unless I have an underlying computer issue which has formed over time, then I may have to clean out my computer or find a better one. Though as stated before, ME3 used to work very well on my computer.

Though I'm not sure how to repair Origin but I'm sure if it was, I would have faced this problem a while back.

What has your computer been doing since you last played?

Do you have any new software installed since then?

New Drivers?

New Hardware?

Can you check the Temperature inside your case, such as CPU temp, or GPU temp?

I have found, in general, PC's need to be cleaned/dusted once a month.  Your situation may vary depending on environment.  (Do you have pets, live near construction, a farm, a desert, etc...)

It's just been sitting here, I turn it off regularly, I have a few things like Origin and steam running along with firefox but that's really it. I don't believe I've installed anything new but new drivers to see if it would fix the option and I don't think I've got any new hardware. My temperature is fine so far and I've cleaned out the computer with a can of compressed air today. It hasn't stopped the problem but my computer in general is much more quiet. I have pets but they rarely come near my computer and I usually clean for dust regularly.

I'm not sure why it persists but everything is in working order, unless the game just disagrees with my computer but since the thing causing the problem isn't obvious and that the game worked before, I'm unsure if it's been a recent patch or something along those lines that has caused the problem but performance has been great until I played recently for Omega.

Try deleting Omega, and playing without it to see if it is still freezing, if it is, try deleting the Alternate Appearance Pack to see if this corrects the issue

To delete them, go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\DLC"

Delete:
Appearance Pack 1

Omega

then go into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\DLC\_metadata"

Delete:

Appearance Pack 1
Omega

I have also had 5-10 second random freezing, but on Xbox 360.  

I played ME3 for 6 months without this issue, and it started suddenly after some of the new DLC was applied.  I don't remember which DLC however, one of the multi-player updates or perhaps Leviathan.  In single player mode, even playing original content missions (i.e. not DLC missions).  It seems to me to be related to network connection, as if it is connecting to EA/Origin...  but I am simply speculating.  Sometimes when I load a game the screen is black for 10-15 seconds or longer and then everything works fine.  No other games have been installed.  Maybe the DLC is putting more load on the 360 graphics?  But it is not consistent, i.e. not every x minutes or repeatable at certain cutscenes.  360 is not overheated either.

Wow. I can't believe it worked, but once I deleted those two DLC's the game worked fine. Now the problem is, what do I do with the two dlc's I bought that I can't really play with? Hopefully they'll be a patch/fix to make it more stable!  Thanks for the help, I'll try installing the dlc's seperately and see which one causes the issues.

There's bound to be others who are still searching for a fix and ending up in this thread. This might not work for you but it could help. The problem in my case is probably the sound card / driver. The funny thing is that I recently installed ME2 for a fresh play through and found the game freezing during cutscenes and sometimes in-game but rarely or never in combat (don't remember). Ctrl+alt+del followed by Esc would get the game going again. I could play the game but it was a bit annoying at times. 

Today I decided to play ME3 due to the epic combat. About 2 minutes into a savegame from the Omega reactor core, the moment a cutscene with the Cerberus general started, the game froze. How odd - the exact same problem in ME2 and ME3. I disabled my audio in the devices manager after bumping into this thread and finding confirmation that it could be audio related. Problem solved though it's nigh on impossible to play the game. I don't have time to work on this now so cannot post a proper solution but here's a lead for you chaps.

The strange thing about this is that I had a very similar problem back in 2013 with ME3. It manifested itself in a different way though. I can see from the savegames that I've clocked many hours of gameplay since posting this thread, the problem kind of stopped I think...
