The first thing that comes to my mind is that if you bougth it second-hand there is a hugh risk that the code is already used. Hence, you will not be able to get a new key. However, if you bought it from a retailer you should be able to get a new key from them or ea. Try complaining to the one you bought it from and contact the official support of ea.
