I'm not convinced though. As long as the information is on the disk that I purchased, it seems right that I also own that information, and as long as it is limited to only my copy of the game, I should be allowed to edit any information stored on the disk.
EA may retain the right to refuse me the use of Origin, therefore causing the game to not work anymore, but in the same vein, I assume I'm within my rights to edit the executable file to bypass the Origin connection requirement.
