General protection fault!

As this is almost certainly an issue with your Visual C++ installation, please manually run the following installers:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\__Installer\vc\vc2005\redist\vcredist_x64.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\__Installer\vc\vc2005\redist\vcredist_x86.exe
Let us know if the issue persists after that.

Thanks for posting your Dxdiag. A few things to try:
- Run System File Checker to ensure the integrity of your Windows System files: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
- Set your monitor refresh rate to 60 rather than the 75 it is set to now
- Update your video drivers using this download: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/96073/en-us
Let us know how you get on after those steps, thanks.

Hello, I had the same issue and when reading MahatmaGhandi61's error log, I saw that it mentioned "General protection fault!" this usually refers to an issue of authentication or administrator rights, and indeed, running the program as administrator fixed my problem.
