Re: mass effect: andromeda won't launch

@cathalibm

Again, did you reboot your machine or did you logged out of your Windows user account after you changed the language to English Uk?

If not set the language to "English (United Kingdom)" as described in this post. Then click on English (United Kingdom) > set it to "standard" > reboot > test the game.

  • I'm heading to bed. Its 1:08 am. I've been trying to sort this since 6:30 pm.  I've to be up for work at 6 am. I'll check back tomorrow evening. Just decided to make sure that the fault is not work origin itself. I have bf1,3+4 installed on it . I just tested bf1 and it launched fine. So it much be something with mass effect.

  • Lot of errors showing.  Do a clean reinstall of your graphics drivers.

What exactly is happening when you start the game?

Remove all Irish settings including the Keybord settings from your system > reboot > Test

If that don't helps, disconnect your second monitor, then preform a clean boot and test the Game afterwards.

  • Going to do a clean unistall of graphics cards drivers. and reinstall. I'll get back to u. I takes ages to download the latest drivers for the card.

  • i did a clean install of the graphics drivers and removed all reference to language English Ireland, I also disconnected my second monitor. It didn't work. So i started to end task every program listed in the task bar one by one. Finally got the game to work. Only thing is i don't know what Program caused the conflict. I check again tomorrow and post the results. Its nice to be exploring planets again. Its my favorite part of the mass effect series.

  • Launched it today, no problems. im beginning to think that it had something to do with the nvidia software. Regardless look like the issue is solved. Thanks for the help guys.

Just wanted to say a big thanks to you Holger (and everyone else trying to help solve this) - my regional settings were set to English - Ireland changing it to English - UK fixed it for me too.  Seems they added some really lazy\rubbish localisation code in the last patch!

For what it's worth - I had to mix this change in with one other of the many suggestions:

    1. Change language to English - UK and set as Default
    2. Reboot PC
    3. Launch Origin
    4. Go offline in Origin
    5. Launch ME:A
    6. Get the Activation screen (because offline)
    7. Activate
    8. Game launched successfully
    9. Exit Game
    10. Go Online in Origin
    11. Relaunch game

    It's been running fine since.

    Many thanks!  🙂

Quick tip, I found by completly doing a clean uninstall of my graphics card software and then a clean install of the drivers it worked for me. I uses a program called Display Driver Uninstaller. Search for it online. Free program. I did all the other stuff that u put in above and this was my final solution.

I did a clean install of windows and that was the only solution that worked for me. Game worked fine after that.

  • ok this solution has worked for me. i disabled cloud sync. then i deleted save folder for the game and started the game. it worked nicely. i guess patched games no longer work with previous save files. lost my character but that's ok, since i wanted to start again. hope his might help.
