Re: Mass Effect LE lag since Windows Update

You should have a software called "A-Volute" on your PC.

Deinstall this software > Reboot > Test.

Apart from that, the old Windows Education version Build 19041 might also be part of the problem.

  • @holger1405Thanks for your help! I managed to fix the issue, but these were not the issue. You comment still caused me to figure it out though!

When I looked up where to find "A-Volute", I noticed it was a driver for Nahimic. I had original uninstalled Nahimic from my PC because, for some reason, it made Excel crash. When I saw that "A-Volute" was related to Nahimic, I checked to see if it was back on my PC and, lo and behold, the windows update seemingly reinstalled Nahimic. So I tried Excel just in case and it was crashing in the same way before I deleted Nahimic. I figured I should try deleting it again to see if that works, and it fixed ME LE.

TLDR: Nahimic can cause ME LE to crash.

Yes exactly, that's why I suggested that you delete "A-Volute", because it contains Nahimic. (That is not only crashing Mass Effect and Excel btw.)

Because of your MSI Mainboard Windows update will reinstall it as long as you don't take more serious steps
