Re: ME1 Ilos MAKO bug

Sorry but that is not a bug. You can't blame the game because you choose to go on foot during a mission called "race against time" instead of using a much faster vehicle. Also this happens to the end of game and by that time you should have notice that there is not much hands holding (which I greatly appreciate) so you are king of responsible for your actions including how often you save. Just as well as if you have too much damage on Mako and not enough omnigel to repair it and gets destroyed before reaching the conduit.

I understand you are frustrate because what happens but is no one to blame here. Also pay attention to what happened here because ME2  and ME3 are even less forgiving in terms of decisions.

@sweetpoison0011 This is a ridiculous reply. Of course the game shouldn't allow the player to get into a situation where it is literally impossible to progress or reset the level. If the intention was for it to be difficult or challenging, then it would make sense to make the player replay the level if you fail or lose the MAKO. It is clearly a bug, and I don't know why you took time to even reply? Are you against EA fixing this issue or something?

@sweetpoison0011 It is fundamentally not part of the game design of mass effect that you should restart the entire game if you make a mistake. That is not the intention of the developers, so it's a bug

@sweetpoison0011 Hey, thanks for getting back to me, and sorry if I was a bit quick on the trigger there. I appreciate the help via PM, so thanks for taking the time

99.9% of all of the other time you spend in the mako you're supposed to be able to exit and enter the vehicle, including on the trench run to visit Vigil the prothean VI..

It sucks that it happened though but its part of the games mechanics, nothing else.

Have you tried loading an autosave? Also i know in ME2 there's a "restart mission" save that you can run, try looking for that.

Outside of that, i'm sorry mate but you're out of luck

Yea no this is just not a well thought out reply, there is a difference from challenging gameplay and bad level design. Iโ€™m sure it wasnโ€™t the developers intent to stop the players progress if they got out of the mako during this mission.

It isn't against the game design. That's why they have a hard save option. You should. Everyone should. Saving is part of the game. Not saving through the entire game so you have to replay it is, user error. Just because one does not like a fact, does not mean it is not a fact.

For everyone with this problem playing on PC, there is a Mod on Nexus Mods that allows you to enable the in game console.

With that you can summon the Mako.

Well... I hope you don't work as a UX Specialist in a video game development studio... ๐Ÿ˜†

    @Enriador

I just tested that and you can easily got by this barrier if you only try for a few seconds, at least on a PC.

I donโ€™t have a save for the MELE at Vigil on ilos so I can`t test it there right now.

@Bowi_QCNo idea what UX stands for but no, my day by day job it's much worse: system administrator - a job where no one appreciates you when things goes well but got blame when it doesn't.
Doing stupid things in games it's part of learning kerb same as fixing the own mistakes (like using console to spawn the vehicle or teleport),
On this particular case, you had all the hints to suggest using Mako. Lots of heavy armored geth including colossus type, a door large enough with Mako facing it and a mission's titled "race against time". There is no excuse for going on foot (although there are logical explanations like using god mode and superweapon which prove Mako useless in terms of firepower and protection) yet if you do at least assume the responsibilities for bad call.
Can't even imagine how well you will do in following chapters (ME2 and ME3)

Sorry, but this is a game-breaking bug, and Sony and MS would've prevented the game from being released if they had caught it.

Just because the developers intended something doesn't mean that the player should be able to get themselves into a no-win situation. That is literally the entire point of QA testing.

Also, the fact that there was an invisible barrier preventing this in the original release also shows that a tester found this before and they did a quick and dirty fix, which was somehow broken in the remaster.

This also means it's probably an easy fix. If they wanted to go the extra mile, they could spawn a text pop-up that says something like "You wouldn't survive this fall. Go back and get in the Mako."

And for the record, this just happened to me. Was in the groove, wasn't really thinking and ran by the Mako. Fortunately I have a save before Ilos so I have recourse. But they should absolutely fix this, and telling people to get over it doesn't give you gamer cred or whatever you think it is that you're doing.

@Ravidrath"a game-breaking bug"? are you serious? This is an RPG game (see here what that means https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Role-playing_game ). Honestly, in Illusive Man's place would you invest in rebuilding a character which make such a pour choses? Is no point on going to ME2 or 3 if you can't figure out such a simple thing like taking the vehicle with you.
Maybe BW should had added a new achievement for that, something similar to t_urd burglar achievement (for those who knows about that).

I had a similar problem, so it obviously hasn't been addressed yet.

My mako bugged out of existence after landing.

Literally couldn't be found anywhere on the map around where the marker was.

I thought I could try to do the mission on foot since I was given no alternative.

Even reloading into the game didn't bring my mako back.

Needless to say, I failed horribly.

    Such a long walk too.

The simplest solution would be to force the crew to spawn in the mako at least at the very end after the cutscene.

That would be a completely different issue to the one discussed in this thread.

What platform are you playing on?

If you are on a PC try to repair the game.

(Origin: Game Library > Right-click the game cover > Repair)
(EA app: My Collection > Click on the three dots on the game cover > Repair)
(Steam: Game Library > Right-click the game > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.)

    Platform is xbox.

No fancy commands for me ๐Ÿ˜…

I ended up losing a couple hours of Progress from my saves.
