There is no official gamepad support, which I consider a design flaw since the ME2 interface is not friendly to mouse and keyboard (lack of menu shortcuts or double click). You can use third party software like Xpadder, though that doesn't work great either.

There were config tweaks to get some Xbox 360 controller support, but with missing user interface elements, so it required players to switch to the mouse now and then. I don't remember where I found this config tweak, but perhaps you may be able to google it, though I'm not sure how helpful this will be on a different brand of controller.
