Re: Resolution issues

I found a similar issue when trying to implement virtual super resolution; the higher resolutions were in the dropdown list, but when I picked them, they would not apply. However, I did find a workaround.

If you open the GamerSettings file (with Notepad) in your game installation (\Origin Games\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Game\ME1\BioGame\Config), you can adjust the resolution there. It stuck for me, but if you adjust from the dropdown in-game after that, you'll need to edit the file again if you want to use the higher resolution.

  • I found that after I got the patch installed yesterday, that I can set the resolution properly.

  • I did try disabling AA, but I was still unable to apply the higher resolutions in the drop-down menu. I can see them, and select them, but when I go to exit the Graphics menu, the resolution does not apply. The only way I've been able to play at those resolutions is to edit the GamerSettings file.

Also, when playing at 5120x2160 with AA on, there is ghosting on the left side of the screen (seems to be ghosting the right side, very odd). Turning AA off fixes this, but the game's AA cleans up a lot of the aliasing, so I moved the resolution down to 3840x1620.

@mostlyharmlessX This works for me too however there is a small issue where when ME1LE launches with a higher DSR resolution it automatically alt-tabs back out every time I try to tab back in and I have to spam left click as I tab back in to grab focus of the window (only has to be done once per launch then alt-tabbing works fine after that). Small but annoying issue.
