Re: Xbox One Controller Not Working

@Suiteness73

This is a wireless controller? Did you tried it with the cable connected?

If you are on a PC try to repair the game.

(Origin: Game Library > Right-click the game cover > Repair)

(EA app: My Collection > Click on the three dots on the game cover > Repair)
(Steam: Game Library > Right-click the game > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.)

  • @holger1405 I forgot to specify that it's a wired controller. I don't own a wireless one to try out either.

I verified the game files yesterday when this problem first happened.

Than the troubleshooting steps become more complicated.

Please preform a clean boot and test the Game in clean boot mode.

Make sure your virus scanner and other security software and also Afterburner and similar software is disabled.

  • @holger1405Sorry for the delay, but I did the Boot you suggested and I had an issue with EA Background service, but I finally found it and got it turned back on.

Unfortunately, my controller still won't work in game. ☹️

Sorry, my bad, wasn't necessary in Origin, old habits die hard.

In the step with the "Services", enable the "EABackgroundservice" again. > then proceed with the test.

  • @holger1405 Ok, I finished the tests and my controller is still not working in game. I have no idea where to go from here. I really thought the boot might work. ☹️

On a side note, I really appreciate you trying to help me with this.

Ok, to make sure, in Steams Big Picture Mode, the Xbox Controller Configuration support is specifically checked?

(Steam menu > Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings.)

Your Controller is recognised in Big Picture mode as well?
(Steam menu > Steam > Settings > Controller > Big Picture Configuration.

Any you start the game from Big Picture Mode?

@Suiteness73 I'm adding onto this that I found something that actually worked. Not plugging in the controller until the game starts. That's what finally worked, after all that time trying to figure it out. Something so simple. I hope if anybody else has issues, they find this post.

@holger1405 Thank you so much for all of your help. I learned some new things about my computer thanks to you, so I appreciate it. 🙂
