You can test by installing Origin client and try to launch the game from Origin instead of EA Play.
You can check if the saves are in the right place in your HDD: press WIN+E, select documents and inside that folder you should have one called "BioWare" with child folder "Mass Effect Andromeda". Inside of last folder you can find your saves and screenshots.

Also, make sure in Origin and in EA play you have active cloud storage for saves.
You can't use Origin if you have a EA Play subscription, and EA Desktop does not have a cloud save function yet.
What does it say about the "Deluxe Edition Pack" if you click the three dots in the Mass Effect Andromeda tile > Manage Add-Ons, in your My Collections page inside EA Desktop.
Did you ever owned a different edition of the game?

It says I've got the Deep Space Pack and Deluxe Edition content add-ons installed. I've never owned a different edition of the game.- holger14054 years agoHero+
I might have misread your first message, do you have EA Play over a MS Game Pass?
If not it is indeed possible to use Origin instead of EA Desktop like @sweetpoison0011 said and I would recommand it as well.
Try to repair the game inside Origin.(Origin > Game Library > right click MELE > Repair)
I however don't think this is a save game problem, it looks like that the version of the game you have is not longer recognised, respectively that the Deep Space Pack is not detected correctly. You also can try to set the "MassEffectAndromeds.exe" to a Windows 8 compatibility mode.

Right thanks for the compatibility mode tip. Yeah I've got EA Play as a bundle with Xbox Game Pass, so I don't have Origin
