I have a save file after beating ME1, but not its not recognized in the game. I still have the file in my documents. I have tried repairing the game, running the launcher as administrator, deleting and reinstalling origin, and checking the cloud services of steam and origin. I also spoke with 5 different origin support assistants over 5 hours. I would greatly appreciate any help. can the save editor save me?
@yummytwinkies Where is the save file located?
On PC the end game save file for ME1 isn't saved in with the other save files and isn't labeled as an auto-save. Instead it's saved in a file simply called "Char"; I've included an image below where the end game save files are stored on PC.
@yummytwinkies LE2 should look in LE1 Char file for the import; for example this is where my game looks...
C:\Users\(username)\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save\ME1\Char
@sundance31usWell, I copied and pasted it, so its still in both files. I also started a new game in ME1 and then looked where the save file went, and it put it in the same folder. Idk why the launcher or the games don't recognize it.
One common suggestion when this happens is to load a previous save and defeat Saren again, let the credits run though til the end, then open LE2 and see if there's a LE1 import available.
@sundance31us I would be fine with that, but when I load ME1, there are no options to resume a game. It only gives me a start new game option.
When you go to your Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save\ME1\ file are there normal save files in there (Example in the image on post #2 above, the Fineas01 file contains normal save files)?
