Title. I have the game on Steam, it worked fine until the latest EA app update. Now the game hard crashes my steam deck during random loading screens. I play for a while then the game crashes and I have to restart my steam deck with the power button.
Pls fix this

On my Steam Deck (steam OS Holo), the game Mass Effect™ Legendary Edition stopped launching.
The launcher doesn't even start.
I tried the following:
None of these steps helped.
Please tell me what to do?

I did all that.
My game launches without a problem and I can play for a while, but it randomly crashes during loading screen and completely freezes my deck. I tried everything proton related, reinstalling the game, verifying files etc. This did not happen before the latest EA App update. I believe there is a memory leak issue because while running the game my RAM usage goes up constantly until it crashes. I don’t think a game like this warrants 14-15gb RAM use especially since the minimum requirement is 8GB. It shouldn’t go up so high that it hard crashes the whole system.

I tried to play ME2 which did allow some gameplay but soon crashed. I have tried everything from uninstalling and reinstalling the game to deleting Proton files and verifying the integrity of the files. I have never had this issue until the recent updates. All 3 games have run smoothly for the past month up until now and it doesn't seem like I'm the only person with this issue. Can someone please fix this.... thanks.

This may be connected to the EA app and Mass Effect Legendary edition not having full Steam Deck support, Out of curiosity are you trying to use any mods?
No mods. And the game worked fine until the latest EA App update.

i'm having the same problem too... I have tried everything people online suggest like using earlier proton versions, by integrating the EA app with steam, turning off in-game overlays from both parties and more but nothing works.
For me it also crashes on random loading screen but now specifically i'm stuck on when you first arrive on the Citadel, when the cinematic ends my entire system crashes and reboots. I've definitely tried everything i can to fix this issue. I've read that this is not the first time a Proton/ EA app update have broken this game.
What a shame that they are forcing us to use their god awful launcher.
I guess we'll just have to wait because frankly after 2 days of straight troubleshooting i'm sick of trying to fix this mess and their garbage tier launcher and that horrible SteamOS. 😠
Same here as well. Ran fine now my deck locks up and must be forced shutdown (holding power button). Please fix
EA’s recenr update or whatever it is that has happened in the last 2-3 days has caused all Mass Effect users from playing their game they purchased as it was fine before but now it hard crashes/freezes where you have to manually shut off the steam deck. This didn’t happen before & is happening now? Hope EA catches this & goes OH let us fix that real quick for you Mass Effect lovers because I love this game! I want to be able to play it like crazy on my handheld please EA look into this when you get a chance! I know its been 2-3 days but man it sucks when a gem of a game crashes :/
