SUGGESTION: Toggle Key for Flashlight

Could you please include a key bind to toggle the personal flashlight like the one in the Nomad?

I am wearing the Scavenger armor which does not even come with a flashlight attached and in addition to that the flashlight automatic trigger seems to be broken and the flashlight is turned on or of for no reason.

I would like to manually control it.

  • As bugged flashlight was reported several times, I have to support this suggestion. If it's not possible, then at least some sort of "reboot flashlight" button so it starts behaving properly.

  • It's so good to see other want this, too. There are so much dark corners where I would love to use my flashlight - small caves, vaults -  but the game says "no need for a flashlight". And since we already have the b button for the Nomad lights, why not use it for a manually controlled flashlight, too?

You could also have, as an Engineer profile, that small drone scouting and illuminating your way around. I'm in favor of making your profiles have actual function beyond battle. You are an explorer, and profiles are basically combat things, which don't fit. So, make profiles work as if they were meant for other things as well.

I couldn't possibly agree with you more! I'm light sensitive when it comes to newer games and their overuse of bright lights/lighting. Havarl was the first area in the game that wasn't overly bright, then the flashlight turns on and you can't turn it off. Any time something is close to the player it glares so bright it causes eye-strain. The Devs gave the Nomad headlights you can toggle, but decided not to for the player??

Then there's the fact that this game takes place in 2185 and they apparently have mastered inter-galactic space travel but their flashlights are still from 2017. Like it would've been so hard to have a flashlight dim itself if an object is near. Why can't games just use a flashlight with uniform diffusion? Stop replicating those old * D cell flashlights. And easy on the glare from reflections off smooth surfaces.

I can't agree more. From a role-playing perspective it annoys me to see my character giving away their position without cause. As bright lights are quite noticeable in the field.
