This is Mass Effect and not Sim City, I know, but could you consider implementing a system that let us somehow have an impact on our colonies. After having to decide on EOS Military or Science I thought there would be more customizing going on. Does not need to be a free placing system, but different buildings that could be upgraded * Spaceport * Bar * Market and Black Market * Storage Rooms * Barracks * Med Center * Shipyard * Chop Shop This is just name dropping, but I guess you get the idea

This could be something we can actually spend our credits on.

It would be kinda cool. I'd really like to have a base on a planet of choice where I built my own home in the form of a base. I could go for that. You know, collect stuff around the heleus cluster to deck out the place and use crafting for buildings and such. Yeah, I'd love that.

The sudden appearance can at least be handwaved with the notion that they're using prefab colony blocks for just about everything. The larger structures like the water purifier and comm-sat array are much less believable. Dropping additional colony blocks and being allowed to spend credits and resources towards dedicating them to certain things, however, should be entirely doable. This isn't Fallout 4-level settlement construction we're talking about.

Kadara Port was already there. It was an angaran colony previously remember.

SUGGESTION: Upgradable/Cutomizeable Colonies

I think some improvements could be made, but nothing TOO drastic or big. We must keep in mind the timeline. To get things growing too much in a short amount of time feels off (we already have to put up with the sudden appearance of the Outpost fully built in a whiff of destiny). I already think that they have exaggerated with the size of New Tchuchanka, all done marginally around one year only.

In fact, all of those style prefabs are Angarian based in design. The outpost style is Initiative only.

I've mentioned in other threads that a great idea would be to have attacks happening on the colonies by the kett and outlaws but more importantly the kett in end-game once you've effectively beaten the game. Reason to still play your finished game. Right now you get to the end and besides a bit of running around here or there, the game suddenly loses its flavour.. leaving you with 2 options. either do the game over on a new game..or play endless multiplayer.
Colony attacks would be a great way to give the colony bases meaning. Right now, all the npc's are just mission givers, where in a colony attack they would be seen acting in a more military role and that is where single player imho.. fell over.
