Take off / put on a helmet

Dear developers,
Please add the ability to take off and wear a helmet in the game.
For example, a button, like it was in inventory in original mass effect. Or any other more convenient way than it is now. To do this each time in the setting is not cool.

  • I agree with this to a point. It kinda screwed me up for a bit on when I was wearing mine on the mission (before I found the option to put it on or keep it off in the settings), and in the cutscenes it keep taking it off. Like I thought it was a bug, and the game wasn't rendering it.

Then it went really screwy during the one part when you're walking around in a vacuum, but no one has their helmet on but you get the sound like it should be on. It would be nice if the game itself had the ability to pick when you will or won't have your helmet on based on the environment.

Without setting it to only keep it on or keep it off. The cutscenes are immersion breaking to the max

He is actually doing the opposite of what you say and asking for the possibility of doing the thing himself.

Which I agree with, yes, in some environments it should be forced but in general you should be able to just put it on or off, it would add to the immersion. Like, as a Ryder I may like to have it off but when board an enemy ship I'm gonna put it on cause you never know. Or I may like to have it on but I'm gonna take it off if I'm in someone's house talking to them cause I'd look like an idiot.

This really became apparent when I established my 1st settlement on Eos.  My game options selection was "no helmets in conversations", so having my helmet on all the time in the high radiation environment made sense.  But once I got to the protected area of my settlement and all the settlers were walking around without head gear, I felt and looked a little out of place.  But having a key toggle to add or remove your helmet would be nice.  We have one to holster  our weapon, seems logical we should have one for the helmet for immersion's sake.
