Kallo will probably have a fit and go all depressed on me for attempting to tamper with his precious tempest.... But... If I can make one improvement to the tempest, I would remove the conference room... It is a waste of space, you dont need that space just to make a vid call, we can do that in Ryders room or on the bridge, we had like 3 team meetings all of them aint that impressive and can be done elsewhere, heck gather them in ryders room or near the nomad for all I care... Most exciting thing that happened there was PeeBee doing her eos entrance tackle on ryder if they are romantically involved. how I wish its converted to a chill out room, just like the one on the normandy where sometimes crew will hang out and chat... Garrus had some of his best lines there. Now the crew is scattered all over the tempest and sometimes you can hear Peebee shouting across the ship to converse with the others, most of the time I cant hear what they are saying... Any thoughts?

Since I climbed over 50 ladders a day on military ships, I have no sympathy for you virtual ladder climbing complainers... 😎 As to the ladders being there in the first place, that is actually very realistic. I think every SyFy ship I've seen that allows you to see most of the ship has ladders. Simple answer? Power loss. If you want to get shot down and can't get to your escape pod because there isn't enough power for the lifts, elevators, etc., more power to you. Enjoy the outside air as the ship explodes. Be sure to bring Liam with you. Seriously though, ladders should be there as part of the ship design. There should always be mechanical ways of dealing with things that normally require electronics. And for a two-level ship, more than one lift seems a little impractical in design. I guess I could see a small lift off to the side that takes you up and down quickly, something like the larger cargo lift, but smaller and faster, and just one of them. I personally prefer the open design. Like the Captain's quarters as well. No, those aren't realistic at all and I wouldn't gripe if they were made more realistic. But I'll take them while I have them 🙂

my guess is that the tempest didn't have their ies stealth system engaged when they ran into the archon's flagship... as the emission sinks don't function indefinitely, well, not without melting the crew anyway.

To me that's a big missed opportunity. You have the best view from there, though it's often distorted by too much light to get a good idea of the view of what's outside and I would've like to steer the ship from there, just like you didn't operate the galaxy map next to the pilot either in the Normandy. How cool would it have been to have a sort of 3D galaxy map there above your head. A bit like in Jaal's childhood room but then a proper map with travel options. To me that would've been awesome.

Thats truth, the room is useless. But I would move the both study rooms there and I would create more sleeping-rooms. There are really not enough, for so many people.

LOL nope it's not just you, I want them too and so does some of the crew and they actually commented about this during a banter on the tempest, but think cora mentioned something about the tempest not being able to cope with weapons and it may break if they fired a shot, was background banter, so couldnt really hear exactly what was said(adding to my earlier point of not being able to hear the good banter on the tempest). Would love to see the tempest blasting one of those kett cruisers...

What I dont get is, with space being so limited, Liam could get his couch in there lol... what's that space for? His personal beer drinking spot? And poor old drack lives in the kitchen! I mean look at the kitchen, where does he sleep? Before the game was launched I heard them interview a girl from bioware that worked on the tempest for the last 2-3 years... Are the depts not speaking to each other and they didnt figure out that there's gonna be a 800pound krogan on board?

the recoil was the issue, the vibrations wrecking the hull, but that's the kind of thing engineers fix... so, give gil time.

Some of the fluff for the researchable Remnant-derived weapons seems to indicate the potential for upscaling the designs as ship-based weaponry.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Tempest's future armaments are Remnant in design.

I believe the reason each room has a person assigned to it even if it is Liam's wasted space or Cora's fern collection when it should be something edible is because it is easier for coding purposes. Yes, I'm sure no one including the devs believes Drack is capable of sleeping in the galley but they needed a way to trigger cutscenes. Maybe if we get to blow up the Tempest in a dlc we can get them to remake it. Or just damage it enough so it can be changed to house everyone comfortably with real purpose.

Liam's room could be converted into a hydroponics. Cocoa plants, imagine holding the market on chocolate! If Liam complains, airlock him. Actually grow real fruit and vegetables not furns. You could cut Ryder's room in sections, so much is just wasted space. Make one of the sections a room for Drack. A picture of the family, love interest. A habitrail for the space hamster. Monkey bars for the pyjak? Fem Ryder that romances Reyes has absolutely no use for the room. We should be able to initiate talking to Sam whenever we want; he lives in our head.

The conference room is another waste of space. Making this room a place for the crew to actually hang out would be great. A bar, I could of sworn they promised a hang out area for the Tempest. Do they mean the crew standing at the railing to the nomad yelling at each other or by the research station? It is very difficult to interact with them when they are in the crew quarters. Hard to get the prompt to talk to show up. There are not enough bunks for the original crew members. The Tempest was made to be used by Alec Ryder's pathfinder team. No way they all would of had bunks.

I think Kallo and Gil will improve the Tempest by adding remnant tech. to make it stronger, faster, maybe a way to at least defend and including a way to disperse or nullify the scourge. It would be a shame not to let Kallo figure out a way to beat the scourge. He makes too many comments needing to help others fight it for that not to happen. I understand not having weapons on a science ship but pretty sure being modeled after Normandy 2 would mean this ship is capable of being weaponized with the right tweaks.

I guess right now I just want SAM to stop interrupting dialogue with you have email. Maybe something a little nicer for the space hamster & pyjak. Kallo finding a way to deal with scourge would be great.

We have a huge room. Kallo and Suvi might be strapped on their couches for all I know. Drack in on the galley, we have a crew bunker for ... what, 4? Whose bunkers are those, anyway? Nobody is ever lying down. It looks like it was intended for the regular crew, or whatever, Lexi, Suvi, Kallo and the Pyjak.

Dunno, the Tempest is sort of cosy, but it also feels completely like a mess. We have a storage/armory that actually don't storage your weapons and armors, given they all occupy your inventory. A galley where we can scan our food ... for no apparent reason? Crew quarters, like in the Normandy, feel like people would make turns on when they would use those bunkers. The Normandy itself seemed not to have enough places for people to rest, and our squad mates would always ever be on their stations, ever ready, coffee brewing.

Anyway, potatoes.

Short answer, yes and no. I think Peebee's loyalty mission and them leaving in the bouncing safety bar proves it might have been oversight... but then became intentional. Space is definitely not at a premium on the Tempest - but it never was on any ME ship. I think they are all ADA compliant. I thought Drack in the kitchen might just be a Krogan thing - or even a vague reference to Grunt as inside joke.

Just take joy in knowing if you ever want to build a Rube Goldberg machine or go for the domino toppling record you'd probably be safe from accidents.

I'm surprised there isn't an option to arm up your ships (even if it's just adding some missiles/torpedoes to the Tempest. We know the Arks and the Nexus have fighters, but that's the only 'fighting' force for ships other than shoot hand weapons out the open doors of shuttles... >_<
