There still isn’t enough xp

I’ve just completed Mass effect 1. I’ve done absolutely everything in the game and I’m still unable to hit the level cap in either classic or legendary mode! Xp needs increasing to allow people to hit the level cap. I’m level 29 and still needs of 40,000 xp which is impossible to get. So can this be fixed?

BioWare never actually claimed that you'd be able to reach max level in a single playthrough.

They said that they removed the first-playthrough cap and that they rebalanced experience gain in the later parts of the game to let you reach a higher level than you could in the original.

Some outlets misinterpreted and reported that you could reach max level in a single run, but I haven't yet found any official quote actually claiming that (not that one doesn't exist somewhere).

And they changed the starting bonuses in ME2 so that you get the maximum bonus from Level 56+, so there's really no benefit beyond a few extra talent points to reaching Level 60.

I am not quite at the end of ME1, but it looks like you are right. Other players reported that too.

It looks like Bioware miscalculated the amount of XP in the game, they should be are aware of this and I hope they fix it in the next patch.

  • I made lvl 30, but not 60. Funny I got 60 starting a 2nd run changing it to classic mode.

It's not just the mission & side missions, but doing certain mission in an order where you maximize the XP gain, like on Peak 15 on Noveria.

If you hack every container, console and can kill everyone (IIRC there's only 5 that cannot be killed) there's like 15k XP just there.

There are the planets that you survey only that give XP,  then lots of minerals and other survey items. There are tons of codex to hit, especially on the Citadel. Talking to Avina gives decent XP. Then there's the boatload of containers and console hacking everywhere. It's tedious af but it adds up.

Unless you're going for achievement (which i never do). You will get enough to have Max level/mineral import into ME2 even if you don't make 30. Even not completing all the mineral scan and a few minor quests. I imported into ME2 at lvl 4 (5max) and 9K of each mineral (10K max). More then enough to make things a lot easier at ME2 start.
