Here's how it went down for me:
- found the "Nexus Refuge" first (the place where you get the UV lamp from the salarian and fix the radio, the place with the turian doc treating that sick man)
- then I headed northwest to get that angaran artifact and to scan rocks (hitting rocks for science) -- eventually I got the radio call and "Emergency S.O.S." triggered
- I raced to the "drug house", found the two guys -- whatever I picked during the convo, I gave them the UV lamp, they gave me a plant sample
- my character then noted that the plant could help the sick man back at the "Nexus Refuge" -- after this point I was driving blind, no active missions hinted where the first place exactly was
- eventually, found my way back
- spoke to the turian, all I got was "Let me know if you find some medicine", no conversation options at all, and I'm not giving him the plant

Oh and "Task: Running a Fever" never triggered.

100% same with me
I accidentally scanned the unknown plant before talking to the doctor. Couldn't pick it up or interact with it. I had no idea it was for this Running a Fever task, which never triggered when scanning the plant.
That was 40 hours ago in game time. Don't really want to replay all that, only to have it glitch out again.
