VAULTS | Their real purpose. Your thoughts?

A small question: Scourge feeds on Remnant energy or it's attracted by it. When we activated the vault at Habitat 7, the Scourge actually retracted. Any ideas why?
You were effectively turning it off or into standby mode. I think Alec even noted it was probably broken.
