Yeah... that's kind of what I was trying to hint at with spoiling anything. Lol, but yes... the family thing.
Also, I forgot, I think Pathfinder can be passed over distances. The reason I sat that is because of the Turian Pathfinder situation where he seemed confident the original was alive because it never went to him.
I could be wrong of course, but this was the impression I got so it was definitely for family reasons he makes you Pathfinder despite you being a professional space coffee maker... which any coffee drinker (addict... because they're addicts I tell ya) will tell you is the most vital job to have in the Helius Cluster.
So are we all agreeing that there would be no Pathfinder specific training contrary to everyone including a janitor suggesting otherwise? Papa Ryder didn't get 4.0 grade point average in Pathfinder 101, 102 and Advanced Pathfinding?
I think that among the Pathfinders, Alec was an exception. It's difficult to target a reasoning of his own training, but he had very important roles in the past with the Mass Relays and his motivations. The fact that moved him out of Alliance, the fact that he created SAM, everything was orbiting his wife, family. So, aside his harsh countenance, he's truly a family guy.
Now, amid those other Pathfinders, training with SAM would be necessary, knowing the many 'protocols', sticking to the book, knowing how to lead, having a good/impressive background. Their training might be more or less the capability of rounding all of that effectively.
Or they might have a special somber torture chamber that test them beyond endurance.
