I'm a sucker for a good sniper rifle, they were always my preferred weapon in the original trilogy, along with having a backup assault rifle for medium range, and a shotgun for close range (always favored the soldier/tech approach). I'm early in the game, 94 hrs/level 16, so my weapon level is only at the 3rd tier. Right now I'm loving a crafted Insisor Sniper Rifle with that 3 shot burst with mods for damage and accuracy, and augmented in creation with disruptor ammo effect. Great against remnants. Damage is lower, but fire rate is crazy high. In ME2-ME3, the Widowmaker was my go to sniper rifle, with a headshot I could one shot kill anything but a boss enemy, but haven't crafted it's equivalent in MEA. Actually, in MEA I believe it's just called the Widow (correct me if I'm wrong here), and in it's description it states something to the effect that it isn't as strong as the original Widowmaker. So all you snipers, what is your favorite sniper rifle? There are so many to create I don't want to waste the resources on something that is not as effective.

The only single-shot sniper rifles in the game are the Widow and the Isharay, afaik, and the Isharay you can actually build early on due to how easy it is to get Heleus research points.

I used the blackwidow in all 3 of my playthroughs. I crafted it in EOS so the requirements are pretty low and easy to craft. Damage is a little lower than Widow but with the correct skills picked you could squeeze off 4 shots before reloading. On Normal difficulty and at a lower level headshots will take out a kett chosen in 1 shot. 2-3 shots when you pass level 80, as the enemies go up at every level your weapon is capped at X. But you wont have this issue on your first playthrough. Am now on my 4th playthrough and this time round am not sniping but charging with my vanguard. Aside for a brief period during habitat 7, I never used the assault rifle in any of my playthroughs, Took black widow and a shotgun.

I haven't used sniper that much in all those years... but I started using them more often in Andromeda since you could no use them to their full potential, so far I'd say it depends on the situation, if you are out of reach, the Isharay is a really nice one, sure ut has low amo and you gotta reliad after each shot, the Lanat is also nice, and can be used either as a quick shot in battle or charge it up for full damafe if you are far away, the Raptor is a nice option when precision isn't involved, The Black Widow is giid for sniping under fire, less reliading and although slightly less piwerfuk than the Widow (If I'm not mistaken) the Widow itself fall short behind the Isharay that has the same amount of amo in the clip ( one ) and higher damage... I can't say for the Revenant Sniper as I haven't had the opportunity to try them...

Black Widow for distance kills, like the 4 shot clip. Though my goto weapon is the Hornet SMG, which basically turns into an assault rifle on steroids with skill training. The Dhan shotgun with reload skill and 25% shield restore as my Oh Sh!t weapon.

Oh if you wish to use Isharay and Dhan shotgun, use the bio converter aug. Then you can fire at will without reloading. I would add plasma seeking for Dhan, it's really inaccurate for me cause I think the shot curves, too much effort to get use to that so I just slap on the plasma seeking aug.

Actually I am using a pistol - Ushior - for sniping. It has limited ammo, but good accuracy (especially with scope mod) and great punch. At Ryader level 30, it easily does 1000+ damage and has 2 shots per clip, while remaining much lighter than powerful SRs such as Black Widow. Taking into account that Ushior allows You to focus on Pistol passive skill without dividing Your points between several skills AND You can thus use a lot of good pistols like Scorpion or machine guns at the same time (which are still lighter than shotguns and assault rifles) it is a win-win situation for me.

Raptor. The MEA version of it is fully automatic, making it more like a modern day marksman's rifle than a full-on sniper rifle which makes it a bit more flexible. And it's far more stable than the Indra and Incisor so even with the lower base damage you can reliably land a whole clip on the target's weak spot if need be.
