Why do Origin Access get early play of ME:A and pre order doesn't?

The title is pretty much self explanatory. I preordered the game as soon as it was announced and it kind of rubs me wrong that people with "access" get to play it a full 4 days or so before I do when...

    It's an incentive to get people to subscribe. A marketing trick.

@MrRumpeltiltskin @Fred_vdp I understand HOW it works. I am commenting on the WHY. Seems like a backwards way to do things especially as Fred_vdp points out it is cheaper to go the access route.It is... it exists... it just doesn't make sense. And that still doesn't answer the question of why not give pre-orders the early access as well. I pre-ordered the game months ago. It would seem silly to go do the access thing now.
