*Snip* doesn't die in every ending. And why does it have to be a happy ending? Did the game somehow promote this?

There was a "free DLC covering the ending" - it's called the "Extended Cut DLC".
It would still be nice to have an ending that shows Shepard and his/her life going on (if you chose that option).
In the end, it's just a game - but one with a great storyline. I'd say it beats any other game I've played and better than many book series. It's rare to have such a unique story these days that "sucks you in" - feeling like we're part of the story and the thoughts and emotions that come along with it.
I know not all stories end happily, but there are so many of us that long for closure - some even going to far as to spend a lot of time with a mod that pieces things together as best as they can. I hate to see this trilogy be added to the growing list of great stories, shows, etc which just leave the reader, viewer, player, etc thinking, "Wait, that's it??"
If you're happy with the ending, great. But I still have hope Origin will consider spending a little more effort. And I bet it would only help to promote additional ME-based games, whether or not they tie into the original 3.

Hi zirais,
Well each one of us has an opinion on the matter of the 'original' first ending. The social.bioware.com site has a multitude of Forums devoted to all kinds of Fans, storyline and gameplay relating to ME 3. I'm sure you will find a kindred spirit and enjoy very detailed banter on any topic such as the 'ending' that many gamers objected to. Hence the 'alternate endings' DLC being provided by EA to apease those unhappy with their 'ending'.
Thanks for sharing here and do go to the social site. You'll enjoy it. Really.
Hi Miranjac
I appreciate your reply.
I know there are a variety of opinions on the matter - should it have remained as-is, is the additional ending DLC enough, is there an indoctrination storyline hidden, etc, etc.
I've read through various posts on the social forms regarding the subject, and the fact remains - the vast majority of fans are still not satisfied, myself included. Origin seems to be ignoring the majority who still are not satisfied. There have been so many suggestions on ways to improve the ending (small changes in dialog, a few extra scenes, changing the final dialog between the older gentleman and his grandson - making it shepard telling the story)
The new (and old) ending still leaves many questions unanswered that I believe most of us would like to know: Does Shepard survive the red ending or is it just a last breath before dying? The Leviathan DLC also contradicts a good portion of the "star child" conversation, almost negating it.
I'm not expecting miracles, which I fear may be the only option left, but Origin could appease the majority of fans once and for all with a little more work. It's seems pasee these days, but I think deep down - we all want to see the hero "ride off into the sunset".
