Why is my EMS and total military strength the same? And how to get "best ending"?

My EMS is 6465 and so is my military strength. I also just reached 100% galactic readiness, I thought my tms was multiplied by my galactic readiness percent or something. And I didn't assault the illusive yet, if that helps. And how high does your ems have to be to get the 'best ending". I know I'm gonna destroy the reapers and I wanna know if I have enough ems to get the ending where shepard lives. I looked forever and I got mixed awnsers. Alot of people said you need 3500-4000 ems or 5000-6000. I also thought the required amount of ems was lowered to get the ending were Shepard lives. Soo confused....Thanks!!

Short answer: Shepard does not survive. Or maybe.... s/he does. With a (dying/reviving) gasp. 😕mileywink:

But seriously, anything over 3,500 EMS (with the EC installed) lets you pick from the availble options and get the ending you prefer.

In the Extended Cut you need 3100 to get the ending where Shepard lives. Without the Extended Cut, you need 4000.

Yayyyyyyyy, thank you. Now, I can finally beat the game in peace and then cry like a baby in the end. And BTW in my opinion Shepard does survive 😕mileysurprised: Bioware even confirmed it. So I'm going to pretend Garrus and my femshep are reunited, and that they're going to live some where tropical. And adopt a baby krogan or even find out what a human-turian baby will look like. Lol man I can only hope 😕mileysad:
